1. Simple to operate
The CLDM system has an intuitive design, and regular crew members can master the essentials after brief training. For each new customer's first system, Tecway provides one working day of on-site operator training free of charge, so the team can put the equipment to work quickly.
2. Data presentation and export
The accompanying software displays measurement results in real time through a visual interface and analyses liner condition with both 2D and 3D graphics. After measurement, data is exported to a computer over a USB cable; running the CLDM software and entering the basic main-engine parameters lets the system analyse the data automatically and generate a PDF report.
3. Fault indication
LED indicators give clear feedback on abnormal conditions during measurement, so the operator can identify and deal with them promptly.
4. Liner measurement procedure with the CLDM system
1. With the piston at bottom dead centre (BDC), place the CLDM device on the piston through the scavenge port.
2. Position the draw-wire displacement sensor below the piston and fix the connecting wire magnetically to the piston skirt.
3. When positioning the CLDM, follow the instructions on the device for optimum centring; the orientation should follow the fore-and-aft axis.
4. Start the CLDM from the operating handle while turning the piston towards top dead centre (TDC).
5. When the CLDM reaches the top of the cylinder, the system triggers a signal to return the piston to BDC.
6. Repeat steps 1 to 5 for a second measurement, this time along the port-to-starboard axis.
7. After measurement, remove the CLDM and transfer the data to a computer with the USB cable. Run the CLDM software, enter the basic main-engine data, and the system analyses the data automatically and generates a PDF report.
